THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING CARTOON SONGS OF FROZEN’S MOVIE TO IMPROVE YOUNG LEARNERS’ VOCABULARY TO THE FOURTH GRADE STUDENTS AT SD NEGERI 2 CANGKREP LOR IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2014/2015
Abstract
The objective of this study to find out whether the use of cartoon song of frozen’s movie to improve young learners’ vocabulary mastery to the fourth grade students at SD Negeri 2 Cangkrep Lor in the academic year 2014/2015. The researcher took 37 students as her sample from 37 students as population. The researcher used pre-test and post-test in this research as a research instrument. In pre-test and posttest, the researcher taught vocabulary using cartoon songs media as a treatment. The test was conducted on April 30th 2015 until May 6th 2015. Statistically, the researcher analyzed the data by using t-test computation. The mean score of pre-test (70.38) was included belong to good category. The mean score of posttest (79.68) was included to good category. It means that the students have good result in their vocabulary mastery. It was found that the result of t-value is -4.756. Based on the 0.05 significance level, the value of t-table is -1.993. The computation shows that t-value is lower than t-table (-4.756<-1.993). Thus, the hypothesis showed that the use of frozen’s for improving students’ vocabulary mastery to the fourth grade students’ at SD Negeri 2 Cangkrep Lor in the academic year 2014/2015 is effective. Based on the result, it is concluded that the hypothesis is accepted. The research findings indicated that the students are interested in vocabulary using cartoon songs as media.
