The Effectiveness of Editorial in Newspaper for Teaching Exposition Text to the Eleventh Grade Students of SMA N 6 Purworejo in the Academic Year 2012/ 2013

Abstract

The goal of this research is to find out the effectiveness of editorial in newspaper for teaching exposition text on the eleventh grade student of SMA N 6 Purworejo. In this research, the researcher took two classes as the sample. One class as control group and one class as experimental group. Each class consist 28 students and the total sample is 56 students. The result  shows that using editorial in newspaper is effective for teaching exposition text to the eleventh grade students of SMA N 6 Purworejo in the academic year 2012/2013. It can be seen that of pre-test before the researcher gave the treatment is 63.02, and the result of post-test after the researcher gave the treatment is 80.54. The result of t-test value is 6.46. The t-test value is higher than t-table.
