THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING E-DIC NAMED CAMBRIDGE ADVANCED LEARNERS DICTIONARY TO IMPROVE STUDENTS PRONUNCIATION ABILITY AT THE SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMP N 3 KALIBAWANG WONOSOBO IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2012/2013

Abstract


This study is aimed to know the level of students’ pronunciation ability at the seventh grade students of SMP N 3 Kalibawang Wonosobo in the academic year 2012/2013. Besides, the other aim of this research is to find out wether E-Dic Named Cambridge Advanced Learners Dictionary is effective or not in improving students’ pronunciation ability at the seventh grade students of SMP N 3 Kalibawang Wonosobo. E-Dic Named Cambridge Advanced Learners Dictionary is one kind of electronic dictionary (E-Dic), that is a media that may helps the students to facilitate pronunciation practice. The result of pre-test before the researcher gave the treatment is 51.07, and the result of post-test after the researcher gave the treatment is 69.37. Since it was found that the result of t-value is 2.690 based on 0.05 significance level , and the value of t-table is 2.001, therefore the computation shows that t-value is higher than t-invers that is 2.690>2.001. It means that using E-Dic Named Cambridge Advanced Learners Dictionary is effective to improve  students’ pronunciation ability at the seventh grade students of SMP N 3 Kalibawang Wonosobo in Academic year 2012/2013
