AN ERROR ANALYSIS ON APPLYING FINITE VERBS OF INDONESIAN-ENGLISH TRANSLATION MADE BY THE FIFTH SEMESTER STUDENTS OF ENGLISH DEPARTMENT IN PURWOREJO MUHAMMADIYAH UNIVERSITY IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2012/2013

Abstract


This research is qualitative method. The research was held on April 4, 2013. This study is based on descriptive design. The subject of this study is the fifth semester students of English Department of Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo in the academic year 2012/2013. The subject is 30 students in the fifth semester students. As the result, the researcher can draw a conclusion of the finite verbs error 72 or 31% omission, 21 or 9% addition, 140 or 58% misformation, and 4 or 2% misordering. The dominant error of applying finite verbs of Indonesian-English translation made by the fifth semester students of English department in PurworejoMuhammadiyah University in the academic year 2012/2013 is 140 or 58% misformation.
