The Effectiveness of Using Graphic Organizer to Improve Writing Ability of Descriptive Text of the Tenth Grade Students at SMA N 2 Kebumen in the Academic Year of 2012/ 2013
Abstract
This study is aimed at improving writing ability of descriptive text of the tenth grade students at SMA N 2 Kebumen. First, to know students’ writing ability after being taught by Graphic Organizer. Second, to find out the effectiveness of using Graphic Organizer in improving students’ writing ability. Graphic Organizer is a visual method that helps the students to organize the text well and to develop their ideas in writing. The result of pre-test before the researcher gave the treatment is 70.2, and the result of post-test after the researcher gave the treatment is 78. The result of t-test value is 4.028. The t-test value is higher than t-table. It means that using Graphic Organizer is effective to improve writing ability of descriptive text of the tenth grade students at SMA N 2 Kebumen in the academic year of 2012/ 2013.
