THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING CHILDREN SONG TO IMPROVE PRONUNCIATION MASTERY OF THE FOURTH GRADE STUDENTS:(A CASE STUDY OF SD N SUKOWATEN PURWOREJO IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR OF 2012/2013)

Abstract


The research only concerns to find out whether children song as media to teach pronunciation is effective in improve student's pronunciation. The total population is 120 students of the fourth grade students of SD N Sukowaten Purworejo. The research applies a purposive sampling method to get samples. The total sample was 16 students. Then, the data was analyzed using the t-test method to find out whether there was any effectiveness of using children song to improve pronunciation to the fourth grade students of SD N Purworejo in the academic years of 2012/2013. The result of the mean score of the post test is higher than mean score of pre test (72.44>51.19). Then, the researcher consults the critical value on the t-table using 5% (0.05) alpha level significance and the degree of freedom is 2.131. It shows that t-value is higher than t-table (17.99>2.131) it means children song as media to improve the pronunciation mastery for the fourth grade students of the state Elementary School Sukowaten Purworejo is effective.
