The Effectiveness of Using Draw Label Caption (DLC) in Teaching Writing of Descriptive Text to The Eleventh Grade Students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Gombong in the Academic Year of 2012/2013
Abstract
The research is conducted to find out whether or not there is effectiveness of using DLC in teaching writing of descriptive text to the eleventh grade students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Gombong in the academic year of 2012/2013. This research was conducted by using experiment design. The population in this research is students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Gombong. The researcher takes two classes as the sample to be analyzed, and the number of sample is 40 students. The researcher uses purposive sampling. The data statistic analyzed by using t-test. The result of computation shows that DLC is effective to teach writing of descriptive text. The value of t-test was 4.313. For the 5% significance level and 38 degree of freedom the critical value of t-table was 2.024. The value of t-test is higher than t-table (4.313>2.024). Based on hypothesis tested above, it could be concluded that Ha was accepted. Therefore, the hypothesis of this research which says “teaching by using Draw Label Caption (DLC) is effective to teach writing of descriptive text to the eleventh grade students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Gombong in the academic year of 2012/2013.
