THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING LEARNING CELL TECHNIQUE IN TEACHING NARRATIVE TEXT TO ENHANCE READING COMPREHENSION ON THE EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMP N 1 BUAYAN IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2012/2013
Abstract
The type of research is experimental research. The researcher took 64 students of the eighth grade students of SMP N 1 Buayan in the academic year of 2012/2013 as the sample. The researcher conducted pre-test and post-test. The researcher used learning cell technique in teaching narrative text to enhance reading comprehension.
After collecting data and analyzed them, the researcher presents the result of the research. The result of mean score of post test of experimental group is higher than mean score of control group (70.56>65.25). In addition, the result of t-test is 2.65. Then the researcher consults the critical value on the t-test table using 5% (0,05) alpha level significance and the degree of freedom was 2.000. It shows that t-value is higher than t-table (2.65>2.000). It means that using Learning Cell technique in teaching narrative text to enhance reading comprehension of the eighth grade students of SMP N Buayan in the academic year 2012/2013 is effective.
